KOGI STATE- A middle aged Woman identified as Mrs Salome Acheju Abuh was killed Saturday November 16, 2019; a development which came few hours after the Independent Electoral Commission’s (INEC) declaration of Governor Yahaya Bello as winner of the the gubernatorial elections conducted same day in the State.
Mrs Abuh was said to be in her residence when suspected gang of political thugs came shooting sporadically, ambushed her, and bolting all avenues for exit from the house, set it ablaze.
The thugs were said to have targeted, and rained bullets in ger direction, and though she was reported to have attempted escaoe through a window, could not succeed due to presence of a metal burglary proof.
On-lookers at time of the incidence who took cover for fear of their lives, said her assailants waited and watched while Mrs Abuh cried for help amidst the raging flames until she was not.
Following her gruesome murder, a coalition of Women groups Thursday November 20, 2019, staged a protest in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria, lamenting her death, and called for immediate arrest and prosecution of her killers. President Buhari has since ordered a probe into and arrest of the culprits of the horrendous act, which in its entirety was perpetrated against humanity.
It remains to be seen of the Police, how quickly the President’s order will take the wraps off killers of Mrs Salome Acheju Abuh, who until her untimely death was Women Leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP ) in the State.
